falo, New York. Founded by John D. Larkin in 1875, it became known for its innovative marketing strategies, including the "Larkin Club Plan" which involved selling soap and other household products through mail-or-der catalogs and incentivized purchases.
The company also gained recognition for its progressive employee policies, including profit sharing and on-site recreational facilities
The Larkin Company eventually ceased operations in the 1920s due to changing market conditions and the cost of maintaining its unique facilities.
